Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated; I simply ran out of steam. My brother and sister bloggers are prolific in ways I can only dream about. Impressively, the authors listed to the right here are johnny on the spot. They are super sonic when it comes to reporting on our rulers and their Marxist's shenanigans. I marvel at the stamina of my blogging buddies who continue to keep up their spirits in the face on impending bread lines. It takes some moxy...and considerable skill.

While I don't declare myself back from the abyss, I do feel a certain gnawing feeling that I owe the Bamster a verbal whack or two. I just need a proton energy pill or a can of spinach to jump start me back into the mix. Let the games begin...again.

From the outer realms of junk email I found this piece of flotsam. I make no claim to authorship. I have no idea who wrote it, but I like it. I'm sure you've all seen a variation of it at one time or another. The only thing I changed was Democrat Friends to Liberal Friends and Republican Friends to Conservative Friends . The scary thing here is that as parody, a piece like this is losing it's steam. The psycho babble following to my Liberal Friends is not far from reality for many progressives living in these United States of the Perpetually Offended. But the very fact that we now have living amongst us these guilt ridden bird brains, splashing around in a bath of blind moral relevence, well, we have to laugh at them. Even though it is painfully obvious that we are giggling all the way down the road to hell. You know, that same road paved with liberal good intentions. A blessed Kwanzza, or whatever, to you and yourn.

So the Army says that "religion" had nothing to do with last week's attack at Ft. Hood. Of course, that's what they said about the DC sniper back in 2002. (But he's getting the hot shot tonight for his random deeds.) The message was the same then as it is now: Nothing to see here, just move along.

I suppose all that screaming "allahu akbar!" while murdering his fellow soldiers was just an excited utterance...It doesn't mean anything...nothing to see here, just move along.

Come on people, it is NOT terrorism; in fact, don't you dare call what this guy did terrorism. So what if the perp is a ranting Muslim....nothing to see here, just move along.

So what if the FBI knew this cat was chatting up a radical Islamist weird beard and attended a Mosque known for it's Jihad Johnnies . (HT: Atlas Shrugs). Hell, he was just looking for advice on where to get the best prayer rugs...nothing to see here, just move along.

But there is something to see here and we're not going to just move along. We all know that the PC police are working overtime to white wash this event. How disappointed the left wing media must be that the Ft Hood killer wasn't a white guy. Back in 02, the media profile for the DC sniper was that of an angry white male...and they had him driving around in a white van. Wrong! The killers were actually black men, one named Muhammad, tooling around in a Ford, shooting people from the trunk. Oops, just a slight discrepancy there.

Like it or not folks, our freedom is under assault and our very institutions - from law enforcement to the media - if not leading the charge - are supporting it through their PC stupidity. It is a sad period we live in and, more importantly, a dangerous one. There is a hell of a lot to see here and you just move along at your own peril.

You question how allowing an unaccountable entity like the US government could possible run health care when you can't find one example of where said type health care efficiently works anywhere else on earth....You must be a racist.

So the liberal "lion " of the senate has assumed room temperature. Pardon me while I do a back flip or two. All of the liberal news pundits are lauding his merits ad nausem until I'm more than a bit nauseous myself. The ugly truth is that no one has done more to harm the people of America than this spoiled, narcissistic bag of pickled pig guts. His policies have led to the dumbing down of our children, the weakening of our military and our border, all of the tax increases as far as the last thirty years, and the gradual but steady chipping away of our rights as citizens. And lest we forget Chappaquiddick and the cowardly drowning death of Mary Jo Kapechne. He was also involved in assault on a waitress along with the equally morally bankrupt Cris Dodd. Not to mention his aiding and abetting of his nephew in a sexual assault on a guest in his West Palm Beach mansion. For these and many other sins I think he may be getting one of those "shovel ready" jobs the "last Kennedy brother ( Barrack Obama) was talking about. However this job will be stoking the hellfire in the pit. Satan probably should stand back when Teddy gets to close to the fire.

I never tire of watching it. I've watched it probably twenty times...or more. Even Glenn Campbell's awful performance fails to detract me when it comes to True Grit. With T.G. I've become something like Mel Gibson's character in Conspiracy Theory who is compelled to purchase copies of Catcher In The Rye: When TCM or AMC show True Grit, I have to watch...even if it's in the middle of the night...like last night. Though fighting to stay awake, at two a.m. I found myself chuckling at the fantastic exchange between Mattie and Col. G. Stonehill after Mattie had out haggled and brow beaten Stonehill.

Mattie: Do you know a Marshal Rooster Cogburn?
Col. G. Stonehill: Most people around here have heard of Rooster Cogburn and some people live to regret it. I would not be surprised to learn that he's a relative of yours.

There are too many great lines to recount. John Wayne was born to play Rooster Cogburn. Hell, he played him in one variation or another in nearly every movie he made. But Rooster is special. He operates out on the fringe. He's a rogue cop that gets results. He's out taking care of things we'd rather not entertain. It was his "grit" that attracted Mattie to him for the task of finding Tom Chaney.

Judge Parker he's an old carpetbagger, but he knows his rats! We had a good court going on here 'til them pettifogging lawyers moved in!

And it's the "grit" that keeps me up in the middle of the night watching; because I know that that kind of "grit" is fading away in America. The Rooster Cogburns of the world have become marginalized in the great metrosexual revolution. It's not much of a revelation to say that the American man ain't the man he used to be. And, even worse, he's been usurped by a kindler, gentler man; a man glued to gadgetry and the promise of a gravy train from womb to tomb. But there's a nagging thought in every yankee's mind: He knows he's a soft man, nestled in his air conditioned world, and he looks at himself and wonders if he could survive if either hell or high water came his way.

So, at the end of True Grit, as Rooster Cogburn, reins in teeth jumps Mattie's four rail fence, I calm myself with the thought that, come what may, I would eschew the modern man, that I would stare into the face of impending disaster, and with the help of God All Mighty, say, "fill your hands, you son of a bitch!

But for fewer and fewer of us, it is only a fantasy.

I haven't blogged for a while now. It seems I experienced a raging case of information overload. One day I just shut off the tube, the computer, the phone and the lights and crawled into the broom closet. There I assumed the fetal position and stayed that way for 2 weeks, taking only intravenous feedings. Looking back, Id say the tipping point was the whole Gates affair. When highly regarded (and paid) black men, men of great fortune I might add, morph into ghetto banging, head wagging victim mongers, its time to go comatose. So, there in my closet, which strangely resembles my house in shape, size and comfort, I gave up on the blitzkrieg of elitists talking heads groveling before the king...that is, until I stopped drooling and was able to feed myself. Which, in reality, took about two hours.

Actually, I took advantage of a few much needed business opportunities and, just to spice up life a bit, added two daughters, one son in law, a granddaughter, three cats and a dog to the mix in the Three Ball Dead household. So, I've been doing the family thing: meals (the S.I.L. can cook!), picking up, dropping off, going to church with the whole family....wow. Mr's TBD and I had been an island of two for some time; hence, going from library quiet to Grand Central Station loud has taken some adjusting to...to say the least. But it's a glorious time to be alive; and so it could be said that living life took me away from the blogosphere. As an aside, while I convalesced, I think I downloaded the entire Beatles catalogue to my IPOD (or is that uploaded?). I played the lads at high decibels too: It was a yeah, yeah, yeahfest all throughout the house for days...and all at the expense of (or more aptly for the benefit of) my high school aged daughter and her shaggy boy friend. Lord knows they need some music education...know what I'm saying dog?

But one can't hide from the world forever; and as Barry continues his relentless push to cloth us in those drab Soviet pajamas while waiting for our hip replacements, and to force us into those Not So Smart Cars, I had to suck it up and get back in the game. There's corrupt, hypocritical, sniveling, elitists, limp wristed (think Barry's All Star Game first pitch), Marxist bureaucrats to rant and rave about. There's freedom to defend, legs to break and minds to change. With some of the Obmatrons I've met, the leg breaking option has far more appeal. Their minds are too far gone for them to be of any use...they may as well limp in pain as they line up to bow before the One. Hi Ho.

So the dumbo in chief is having a beer in the rose garden with his racist friend and the man his racist friend accused of a being a racist. Blacks always say that they cannot be racist because whites have the power. While that is a dodge lets assume their viewpoint. Who is more powerful than the president of the U.S. ? He took up the side of his friend supposedly without knowing the facts and called the friend's arresting officer , performing the duty he was intrusted with doing, acting "stupidly". While I have no doubt that Obama is a racist and that his professor friend is one also, I do not believe that the officer in question is a candidate for this label. He was sent on this call by his "black " superior because of his being a instructor in racial sensitivity. Upon arriving at scene and attempting to do his job in a cordial manner he was subjected to a lowbrow assault by a highbrow professor. And after great forbearance arrested the professor for causing a disturbance. The professor was warned repeatedly before the arrest. I, myself, would have tased his dumb ass. However I am not deceived by the president's reaction. This was not about his friend's arrest. Obama was attempting to use the race card to elevate his sagging poll numbers. It backfired in a big way. Hence the beer in the rose garden. Drink up Dumbo.

It doesn't come as trippingly off the tongue as lions, tigers and bears, but it does describe the current situation in the Palmetto state. Hell, Oz couldn't be much stranger than our little state. And yes, I included "bad drivers" in my unholy paean to Dorothy and the crew; mostly to fill out the bill, and partly because, if you've had the pleasure to visit our beautiful little corner of the world by auto, you probably noticed the precipitous decline in driving IQ the moment you crossed the border. There's granny in the passing lane doing 50, and frickin' Richard Petty passing her on the right, shooting the finger and questioning her lineage. But I digress.

What more can be said of our love struck governor? You know, he of the sophomoric email composed along the Argentinian trail. Mark Sanford may not be Edward the VIII and Maria Chapur may (or may not be) be foxier than Wallis Simpson , but Three Ball Dead believes that Markie boy is likely to spread on a little Clearasil and bolt for South America: giving up the governorship, the run for prez and his beleaguered wife's tool money. Nobody ever accused us Carolinians of great judgemental abilities. See the beginning of the Civil War.

And finally, a serial killer stalks the fine people of Gaffney (which down here could be a guy named Bubba with a Glock, going through a messy divorce that ends with the beleaguered wife - see above -getting custody of the F150). So far he's randomly killed 5 seemingly unrelated people in this town of 10,000. As we go to press, word has it that Gaston County NC police (twenty miles north of Gaffney) killed a man this morning during a burglary attempt. The man apparently matches the description of the killer...and so does his vehicle. Too bad a Gaffneyian with good aim didn't get the opportunity to clip this hump.

Hiking the Appalachian Trail huh Mark?

Mark Sanford's admission that he is having an affair with an Argentinian dolly pretty much puts the brakes on his alleged presidential aspirations. Well, as a South Carolinian, I wasn't all that convinced of his political ability in the first place...and his business acumen even less. I agreed with his stance on not taking the so called stimulus money (no state should have) - it will almost certainly mandate federal government programs that SC taxpayers will forever be on the hook for; long after the government faucet stops flowing. And he seemed like a sincere guy, but I just never got the warm and fuzzies for his leadership style.

His Eva Peron stunt is just one more nail. His true down fall came with his inability to sell South Carolina's friendly business climate to potential investors. No large job creators came to SC during his administration, and several that considered the state bypassed it for better terms elsewhere. Governor Sanford instead chose to spend his two terms provoking the the good old boy infested State Legislature - the real seat of power in SC - at the expense of the traditional rainmaking duties of the SC governor. And when he did get involved in business it often had unpleasant results. Interjecting himself into a project going on in Greenville, he nearly wrecked the whole deal and did ultimately cost the city an automotive wind tunnel that would have nicely complimented the area's growing reputation in automotive research. The wind tunnel idea went to Charlotte instead. The Clemson University Automotive Research Center (built in conjunction with BMW) did eventually come to fruition, but no thanks to Mark Sanford.

I suppose we can view his dalliance and the likely fallout as political natural selection. Only the strong survive crooned Jerry Butler during the hey day of Motown: Governor Mark Sanford isn't looking all that strong...and it remains to be seen if his political career or his marriage will survive.

Tales of a Home Grown Jihadi...

I first got myself locked up for shoplifting when I was thirteen years old . Then as the years went by I added grand larceny, burglary, simple assault, and then later, arson. But that arson charge was crap! I just happened to be in the apartment when it got set on fire, and as fate would have it, I just happened to know the cat that set it on fire. I'd barely got out the door when they pinched me. They figured it had to be me when they took a look at my priors; so, they convicted me of something I didn't even do. I reckon it all evened out though. I did a lot of other things that I never got caught for. I suppose I had it coming. So I did a stint in the joint...and that's where I learned about the jihad.

I'd been locked up for about three weeks when I met Calvin Jones, aka, Akmed Madullah. Akmed kind of took me under wing, seeing that I'm biracial and that all the skin heads stayed on my ass so much. Before I got locked up I'd never had any problems with the white boys. In fact, some of my biggest scores as a thief came with a guy named Bubba Holliday from a place called Possum Kingdom, South Carolina. But in the hoosegow it was different. They didn't take to my Afro-Asian appearance as well as they did on the outside, so I ended up hanging with Akmed, Mohmmad, Tariq and the boys just to keep my ass out of a sling. And it worked.

Akmed presented me with my first Koran 4 months to the day that I started my 10 year sentence. Before long I was getting instructed daily on infidel hating and Christian bashing. Well, needless to say I was not prepared for the Prophet's teaching, so I just gave lip service in order to keep Akmed happy and to preserve my protection from the crazy white men. But before long, the boys started requiring that I chime in when the berating of the Great Satan began. Again, I faked my way through for the aforementioned reasons. I got pretty good at screeching out Allahu Akbar! I warmed up to the role eventually and started rolling out what I considered to be some damn fine anti American tirades. "Death to the dogs of decadence and impurity! May the breath of Allah forever devour their lands and slaughter their women and children"! Akmed beamed with pride when he heard my screeds. I noticed that the boys really got worked up when you threw in some "kill their women and children" stuff; so, when it was my turn to rant, I incorporated a fair amount of that kind of thing into my performance. It was about that time that Akmed told me that he had a mission for me on the outside. 3 and 1/2 years had sped by and I was up for parole.

It seems the boys had gotten hooked up with some real Muslims on the outside and they had promised them that a recruit from within would carry out a mission in Washington DC once he got sprung. Well, it wasn't going to be Akmed, Mohammad, Tariq or any of the other boys in the Muslim brotherhood, because all of them were in for life without parole. That pretty much left me as the mission boy. I must say that when Akmed gave me the details about the mission, I immediately began having reservations. The plan, if that is what you can call this turkey, was for me to put on a dynamite ladened vest, waltz into a shopping mall, and blow myself to smithereens. It dawned on me then that just maybe these guys were taking this whole jihad thing a little too far. I mean, I tried to sympathize with their inner demons, but in reality I never really caught on with the whole scene. As I said, I went along just to survive the joint, but truth be known, all that death to America chatter didn't make a lot of sense to me. Hell, I was born in the Florida panhandle, I like beer, movies, cigarettes and blonds. And I never told the boys, but more than once I talked to Jesus when the chips were down. His salvation plan sounded a whole lot better to me than blowing myself up in Macy's.

The real trick was to shake the guy who picked me up the day I was released. I thought about tipping off the cops, but I put the kibosh on that idea. I figured, the recidivism rate being what it is, I'd likely get caught doing something stupid, sent back to the clink, and right into the arms of the jailhouse jihadis that I ratted out on the way out the door. So, I decided to keep mum and give my escort the slip once I was free. And that's what I did, but it wasn't easy getting away from my handler, a guy name Sahib. He checked us into a Red Roof Inn where he showed me the vest and drilled me on what to do once I got to the mall. He told me that he would be nearby and that he, or someone, would kill me if I attempted to chicken out. So, after the evening prayer, and some particularly rancid Chinese food, Sahib went to the toilet...and I bolted with his Glock, a box of condoms and a quart of whiskey he had stashed in his backpack. I dyed my hair blond (Like I said I like blonds), shaved my beard and headed for South America. I've been on the lamb now for three months.

I have to say, one lonely night back in the joint with Akmed, I really started thinking about those 72 virgins I'd cash in on once I did my thing in the mall, and it began to sound pretty good. But I snapped out of it. With my luck I'd get to heaven and find out that it wasn't 72 virgins, but 72 Virginians, and instead of lolling around with curvaceous Islamic beauties, I'd spend eternity getting my ass whipped by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Tyler...

So I came to my senses...and God bless America! I hope to come back some day if the heat dies down.

The Jizya represents your acceptance of second class citizenship under Islam. He's got you worried about environmental disaster, all the while he's clearing the way for a cultural collapse that will mean your end. And he's doing it with your blessings. Your chortling over spreading the wealth and making the rich guy pay will ring awfully empty when your boss pink slips you. It will suck huge when the nanny government you yourself ignorantly chose cap and trades your company out of existence.

And worse still, the void left by the death of the country in which you disdainfully gave over to Obama style moral relativism may very well be filled by the same barbarians that are intimidating the Mother Land as we speak. The same barbarians that Barack Hussein Obama intends to release from Gitmo. The same barbarians that Barry just morally equivocated to American patriots. The same barbarians that fly planes into buildings, implode themselves in Iraqi police stations, who murder US Army recruiters and who shoot at people pumping gasoline. Where are the moderate voices of Islam, passionately calling for their brethren to stop the barbarity? Exactly...crickets.

I took the opportunity this morning to listen to our dear leader's latest whine fest on Gitmo. Amongst the brilliant things the TOTUS had to say was that (I'm paraphrasing), our "values" are what keep us safe and that holding the head choppers in Gitmo "compromises national security".

Neither of those declarations make one bit of sense. First, "our values" are precisely why radical Islam has a bulls eye on America to begin with. Our values, or what used to be our values, of individual freedom, religious freedom, economic freedom, etc, etc, are a direct contradiction to the ass backward, Western civilization killing tenants of Islam. Come on Mr. President, have you crawled so far down the multicultural hole that you see no differences between the culture of death and human misery and that of life and human liberty?

As for national security: how in blue blazes does detaining the mass murderers of an evil cult cause us to be "less safe"? I mean, seriously Barry, you must have toked up a ton of that Maui Wowee during your formative years. By your standards, we would be "safer" if Charles Manson was still roaming the streets. It is the same no deterrent argument that those opposed to capital punishment love to make; but it defies reason. An extra crispy mass murderer ain't causing any problems; and neither is a deranged Mohammedan facing east from his cell at Gitmo. And we've already seen the recidivism rate of "detainees" returned to their clans. Furthermore, this particular brand of Islam, you know, the brand that wants to kill free people, would still be plotting destruction whether Gitmo was in business or not. It seems that according to Barry, it simply has to be our fault that they hate us and want to kill us.

As his speech meandered along, I realized that President Obama, despite the accolades attributed to his speaking abilities, has all the engaging qualities of Charlie Brown's school teacher: wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah; and not nearly the intellectual depth.

If you think borrowing and printing trillions of dollars is a really dumb idea, especially after the last Prez tanked the economy by borrowing (from China) and spending too much (education, illegal immigration, Medicare Prescription Program, Fannie, Freddie, etc) , you're right. If you view closing Gitmo (instead of making it bigger) a sign of weakness before the sworn enemies of Western Civilization, you're right again. If you think increasing US outlays to the United Nations to 54 billion by 2010 is madness, again, you are correct. If you think imposing massive taxes on Americans based on a quasi religious environmentalism is beyond stupid, you may not deserve a medal for astuteness, but you are right again. If you think genuflecting, apologizing and promising to disarm America is a strategy devised by imbeciles, you may not be MENSA material, but you are at the very least awake.

Obamanation, Obamanism, Obamanomics...it's all right out of a science fiction novel. The double speak, the assault on individualism - are we not living in a Brave New World? We have arrived in the post American period and it is in a word, surreal.

And speaking of Surrealism, this week we celebrated Salvadore Dali's birthday. Dali of course is famous for being a charter member of surrealists painters who's paintings exhibited the "greater reality" of man's subconscious over his reason. Which, is an apt description of the mind numbing policies listed above. Reason be damned! Every half wit in the world knows that compounding runaway government (Bush) with quadruple the effort (Obama) is unworkable, but, like the Dali paintings, we convince ourselves that it's a beautiful thing, and that it all makes perfect sense if you simply suspend rational thought.

But eventually, to quote Barry Obama's fave-o-rite pastor, the chickens will come home to roost; and reason will again...must rule the day. We ultimately run out of money...other people's money to be more exact, and the slavish relativism of utopian dreams become too scary (and expensive) to comprehend, let alone employ. Like Dali's The Persistence of Memory, we're fascinated by the melting watches, but we know that reality is rigid and unrelenting, not given to our flights of political fancy. Hope and change has a nice ring to it, but if you must rob the free man of his life and his livelihood to achieve it...what good have you done? The background of Memory is stark and not surrealistic at all when juxtaposed to the melting watches. Today, Obamism is the melting phantasm in American politics and culture; while working, creative, risk taking, Americans are the rock solid backdrop of reality. Even Dali eventually gave up the rambling subconsciousness of Surrealism and was soon expelled from the movement. I think it's a stretch to expect Obama to shed his surreal Alinski indoctrination for limited government and rugged individualism; but, freedom loving Americans standing persistently in the background will be there to reintroduce the world to reality once the weak engine of socialism sputters and fails. And it will fail.

It took a lot of years,
But at last I finally see.

As a thirteen year old boy I became caught up in the hype of the 1971 boxing match between Mohammed Ali and South Carolinian Joe Frazier. The March 8 title fight in Madison Square Garden, billed as The Fight of the Century, was compelling in that both fighters came in undefeated and it marked the return of Clay, now Ali, to the ring. The public backlash to the Vietnam War was fever pitch...and the war weary nation was in a forgiving mood concerning Cassius Clay's conscientious objection (which landed him in jail); likewise, Clay's conversion to Islam raised even fewer eyebrows despite the growing Islamic extremism in the Middle East. So, oblivious to the political and religious implications, I threw in with the media favorite Ali. It took me years to realize my mistake.

Eighteen years later amidst my great re-awakening...I began to reevaluate many aspects of my belief system. First, I crawled out of the existentialist hole in which I had descended and accepted the Grace of God and the gift of his Son. Among the more trivial consequences of my revival was the realization that the John Lennon Song Imagine, reeking of moral relevence, really sucked..., and that Mohammed Ali was a traitor and a coward. Thus, it was a pleasant surprise when I saw this article by the always insightful Victor Hanson.

It seems that all sports journalists subscribe to the same slobbering love for Mohammed Ali...and it grates on me every time I hear or read the fawning stories. I thought I'd vomit the night he lit the torch at the Atlanta Olympics. Now, I view Ali, his boxing skill notwithstanding, as an undeserving huckster who hid his cowardices behind a savage religion. It's about time somebody said so. And it's about time somebody said something good about smoking Joe Frazier. He may not have been as good in the ring as Ali, but he was twice the man. The following is from Hanson's article.

III. There was something to admire about Joe Frazier. I have another confession to make, given that I just saw an ad for a new documentary on the Ali-Frazier fights, a film I will try to see soon. Here it is — I never admired Mohammed Ali. Not that much at all. He was a brilliant boxer, but his megalomania ushered a number of deleterious trends into all sports — the ego-driven gestures (which were to be later manifested in everything from spiking the ball to trash talking the opponent) were all repellent.

So now we have the swine flu. This appears just in time for the vote on the health-care bill. Excuse me if I sound a little incredulous."Nothing happens in politics that is not planned". That is a quote from FDR."Never let a good crisis go to waste". That one is from Rham Emannuel. Has anyone noticed that this "flu" appeared after Obama had his visit to Mexico? This "crisis" is amazingly fortuitous for president Soros ...er...Obama. If this bill passes , another huge slice of the American economy will be nationalized. With the green movement attacking the oil and power companies using "cap and trade" as their weapon, eventually all major industries will be nationalized. This has been the life goal of Soros as he himself has stated. However none of this could have happened without the help of Mike Huckabee. If memory serves it was Huckabee who hung around in the republican primary when he had no chance of winning. This was done to draw votes away from Romney. Romney would have won the primary if not for Huckabee siphoning off enough votes to get McCain the nomination. We may never know if Romney could have beaten the "chosen one", but he had a much better chance than "liberal lite" McCain. If Romney had become president the generated economic event would not have gone the way it has. The banking leaders with Polson as their spokesman bullied Bush and Obama into these horrendous bailouts.That was easy. Neither Bush, McCain or Obama knows anything about the economy and they have said so. Romney knows money and economics and would have seen right through their power grab. There is no "pandemic". Yet. It is merely another power grab.

President Obama, in typical humanitarian style, proposes a billion and a half dollars to fight the present pandemic of Swine flu - and he's not stopping there. He's taking on future flu bugs as they come along. "The One" must be in his glory as he envisions himself and Michelle donning a mask and giving flu shots to his compatriots back in the Wards of Chicago. I'll be surprised if anyone from ACORN gets the flu.

Clinton cronies always lamented after 9-11 that Billy Jeff didn't get his chance at greatness like W did in the aftermath of the attack; but our man Obama is getting the spotlight big time.

He's battling the ravaged economy by quadrupling the Bush budgets.

He's apologizing like crazy to anybody who will listen so as to get America back her name.

He's letting the poor boys go free that got picked up by Special Forces and wrongfully charged with terrorism.

And he's disarming the nukes as fast as he can.

Dammit, what more can he do?

He can take on the flu and pour a cool 1.5 bill into the ass kicking effort, that's what he can do. A man for all seasons. He's always a step ahead...as if he almost knew of the pandemic ahead of time. A man for the times. He can change the world!

Spector and Specter: April showers bring...

It's been an interesting month for a couple of guys with homophonic names. First, on April 14, Phil Spector of Let It Be fame landed in the the big house for shooting and killing actress Lana Clarkson. A commentary on the whole creepy tale is here. RIP Lana. And sayonara Phil. And Phil, once you get to prison, look into that new invention they call shampoo.

Then yesterday, Arlen Specter, the senior Senator from Pennsylvania, declared himself a Democrat, thus completing his transformation into a completely useless human being. In any event, his McCainish "reach across the isle" routine had him agreeing with big government liberals more often than not, so his changing teams was no big surprise. It's not as if Perez Hilton suddenly found his testicles. A closer look into his decision reveals that he was likely on the way to losing his Republican primary bid for reelection. Hence, he probably liked his chances better as a Democrat. Welcome home Arlen. I'm sure Barry is preparing the fatted calf as we speak.

Politicians in general, and Democrats in particular have nothing but disdain for the voters. Check out the following quotes by Lincoln Chaffee as reported by from the Hufffington Puffington Post's Sam Stein:

Indeed, when I spoke with former Senate moderate Lincoln Chafee about Specter's tough political spot roughly a month ago (when the prospect of a primary challenge had only begun to materialize) he lamented the litmus test that GOP officials are forced to take.
"It's enormous pressure, especially with the threats of primary," said the former Rhode Island Republican. "It is a no win. You are trying to help move the country forward and you have this small universe of a Republican primary in Pennsylvania, you are in for a scrap in it."

If I am hearing Mr. Chaffee correctly, "the small universe of a Republican primary", aka VOTERS, are getting in the way of the massive government regulation and spending that people such as Specter and his new cronies on the liberal left are pushing. How dare the voters not go along with government control of everything! Don't they realize that Washington knows better? How dare someone question Mr. Specter by opposing him in the primaries (and by all accounts running well ahead of him). Liberals like Chaffee see voter consternation as a "litmus test". The people be damned. Obama's will must be done.

Specter obviously views the voter as an impediment to Washington's plan to tax, regulate and restrict Americans on every front. Here's hoping that Pat Toomey cleans Specter's clock in the 2010 election, thus ridding Pennsylvania and the nation of a fool.

Phil Spector is in jail...now Pennsylvanians need to add Arlen Specter to the unemployment roll.

Are we surprised?

WSPA's website conservatively reported the crowd size as "more than a thousand", which is technically true, but looking at the photos in the post below it is clear that a hell of a lot more than 1000 people attended. There was easily a thousand people standing on the parking garage and sitting on the steps leading to it. Why fudge the numbers so negatively? The genius that posted this report probably has his wife/girlfriend convinced of other mathematical improbabilities too. And they all would make lousy carpenters.

In the same report, Mr. Mathematician failed to mention the size of the crowd at the "Save Our Schools rally" which was jointly held by a hip hop radio station and the Greenville County Democratic Party. Notice also the tight shots of that rally. A wider angle would have shown maybe a 100 people tops. And every TV station that filed a report used the same guy for their interview comments. He must have been the only one speaking something other than ebonics in the whole crowd. Good grief!

The Greenville Democratic Party reported on their website that "several hundred" people attended the "SOS" rally. Well, drop the "hundred" and you might be getting close to the truth; for, in fact, several people did show up. Somebody send these morons a hundred bucks and tell them that Sanford decided to pony up after all. Judging by their accounting abilities, they'll think they've hit the jackpot...and the schools will be saved by the windfall!!! Also, as of Sunday evening, co-sponsor of the event WJMZ had yet to post any news about their Friday night venture. We can't wait to get their head count.

WYFF was somewhat more accurate in their reporting, giving the SOS rally "more than a hundred" and the Tea Party upwards of 10,000 attendees.

Until Friday night, the largest tea party protest in Greenville had drawn about 2,000 people. Police said Friday night's crowd was five times as big, making it the biggest ever in South Carolina.

Whether there were 1000, 2000 or ten thousand people in attendance at the Tea Party, one thing is for certain, when the crowd chanted USA, USA, USA, the "hundreds" on the other side of the Bilo Center damn well heard it.

The Greenville Right Wing Extremists Rally...er...uh...Tea Party

Greenville South Carolina waited until Friday evening to have their Tea Party and it was a rousing success. Local media downplayed the size of the crowd (imagine that!), but 5000+ ultra right wing, bitter, gun toting, sky God praying, patriots converged on The Bilo Center to protest. The Highlights of the evening included:

A speech by Congressman Gresham Barrett that was heard by no one. Representative Barrett made the unfortunate decision to vote for the initial bailout bill. The crowd hissed and booed at him until he left the stage. Hot Air has the whole painful thing here. Gotta give Barrett a winky button for hanging in there. It will be interesting to see if he can overcome his "mistake" now that he intends to run for Governor. His likely Primary opponent, Andre Bauer, also spoke at the Party - and while Bauer did not get a king's reception, he had to be pleased to see Barrett get hammered by the crowd.
A not so rousing speech by Governor Mark Sanford. A lot of folks think he's presidential material...I just can't get past his lackadaisical efforts in promoting the business climate in SC. Maybe I'm missing something. But he is right on the stimulus bucks. The feds are making a power move on the states with this lootfest and Sanford knows it.
Intense and crowd pleasing speeches by national syndicated talker Mike Gallagher and local talk show host, Russ Cassell. The evening ended with a well received speech by Senator Jim Demint. When it comes to standing for conservative principles, Senator Demint has the bona fides. I bet Gresham Barrett would like to take back that decision to join Wittle Windsey Gwaham in standing with the enemies of freedom by voting for the bailout (s) . Senator Demint clearly reveled in the moment - and he had every right too. How about Jim Demint for President? And by the way, where was Lindsey Graham? Did his invitation get lost in the mail?

As I mentioned here, another protest occured on the opposite side of the BLC. Deemed by local rap station WJMZ the "save our schools" rally, only a 100 people or so attended. Of course, local media claimed "hundreds attended". A total fabrication. Pathetic.

The people and the signs: Who said conservative weren't funny and creative? However, to make the Tea Party movement worth while, the people must organize, influence and persuade their fellow Americans to wake up. There is only one choice that makes sense intellectually, and that is to rid the government of power hungry socialists politicians. We, the people, must take this case to the addled masses. Otherwise, the movement is dead in it's tracks and the enemies of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness will gain strength...and so will tyranny.

Greenville Tea Party Update:

ACORN (if they show up) will have company. The Greenville County Democratic Party and Urban (sup dawg?) radio station WJMZ are holding a protest at the same time...at the same place as the Tea Party. The Democrats and Hip Hoppers are protesting Governor Mark Sanford's handling of South Carolina's share of the stimulus money. All under the guise of "Save our schools".

While Republicans protest government spending in front of the arena, Democrats will be protesting Gov. Mark Sanford’s stance on $700 million in economic stimulus money in the back.
A "Save our Schools" rally organized by the Greenville County Democratic Party and local radio station WJMZ is scheduled to start in the Bi-Lo Center parking lot at the same time as the Republican tea party.

60% of state taxes already go to education...but it is never enough. Every school in Greenville County has been rebuilt within the last few years at enormous costs to taxpayers...but it is never enough. Teachers make a good living (many working only 9 months a year) and, if they survive until retirement, receive a full pension and benefits all on the public tab until they die...but it is never enough.

And now, Democrats (are all teachers Democrats?) are hookin' up with the purveyors of Snoop Dog, Kanye and Akon (WJMZ) to jockey for position at the government teat.

What a contrast: Thousands gathering together to protest the waste and corruption of their government...and tens, or maybe hundreds, huddled together yapping for money that should never have been appropriated in the first place.

So in honor of the interesting collaboration of the Greenville County Democratic Party and "Gangsta" WJMZ, a right wing extremist version of Money.

Well I don't know how much dancing we'll be doing Friday night, but we will be protesting the ever lengthening reach of Daddy guvmint...along with thousands of our fellow disgruntled citizens at the Greenville, South Carolina Tea Party.

Word has it that a contingent of ACORN members will counter protest across the street from the Party. To them we say come on down you bunch of deadbeat parasites. Maybe you'll learn something about your nation by witnessing your fellow Americans admonishing their government for spending too much money and stomping on individual freedoms. But we won't be holding our collective breath, we are well aware of your organization's addiction to government pork and political correctness. And we are also aware of your thick as theives relationship with St. Barry.

On another matter, I have several dead relatives interested in voter registration...and I'm told you guys at ACORN are the ones to see about such things.

If ACORN shows up as predicted, then you can bet your diversity training that somebody will whip out the race card. After all, it is a basic tenet of progressivism that only the unrepentant bigot would publicly clamor for limited government. Of course, limited government (if a reality) would not fund quasi Marxists groups such as Acorn. That fact could be the driving force behind their counter protests. This group of government funded shakedown artists knows they exist only by the grace of the taxpayer...

Perusing the greater minds of intelligentsia, I came upon this splendid editorial by Victor Davis Hanson. Of all the great dissections of Obama's visit to Europe, this is one of the best. Hanson provides an insightful punch list on just how insidious this trip was. This observation appears near the end of the list.

A modest suggestion: from now on, every president who wishes to go abroad and review all his lesser citizens’ collective past and present sins, with accompanying apologies — to applause from foreigners — must first, in the spirit of New Testament atonement, review his own regrettable transgressions. It would go something like this:

Hanson then applies that standard to Obama...and with devastating results. Here is what "The One" might say should he take the plank out of his eye first:

“Today we witness a global financial meltdown — a result of a dangerous nexus between lax politicians and unethical high finance. I know this well, and wish to apologize for taking thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the now-bankrupt AIG financial firm, which sought to escape proper regulation by offering campaign contributions to politicians like myself, who unilaterally renounced the three-decade tradition of public campaign finance.”

Hanson nails it. He also exposes Obama's muddled foreign policy. The President seems to be apologizing for Guantanamo and torture, while at the same time continuing the Bush policies in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ponder: Daily those from Waziristan to Kuwait promise another 9/11 like hit. Iran tries everything under the sun to get its bomb. We send thousands more soldiers to Afghanistan; we kill dozens each month with Predator strikes in Afghanistan (rather a bit meaner than putting terrorists into Guantanamo cells with Korans and Mediterranean food).

Read it from the beginning. It's a great editorial with many compelling insights. This is the type of hard hitting commentary that turned me from a clueless, feeling liberal into an inquisitive, thinking conservative.

Tea Party Fever in South Carolina!

It's Tea Party time again in Greenville come April 17. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the rain soaked protest a month ago where over 2000 people attended an event that was barely advertised, but this time I'll be there along with my fellow partner in crime, and Three Ball Dead Poster, t. durham. Local talk radio is doing a lot of press preceeding the event, and I fully expect 5000 or more to gather at The Bilo Center concourse to raise a little legal and under control Hell concerning Comrade Obama's hammer and sickle routine.

Your humble narrators will report back on the festivities with photos and analysis - assuming we're not way laid by the Obama Civil Patrol on the way home. It is a stange world we're living in. Thank Goodness Aaron Tippin isn't as cynical.

The president and his team are suffering from the same conceit which has afflicted many other activist governments in many other settings. They believe a central government can find a way to induce reluctant consumers to buy products they don’t want from inefficient suppliers without asking anyone, anywhere — save for corporate hot-shots — to make an economic sacrifice. Certainly, the unions aren’t to blame. Therefore, the problem must be poor “leadership.” And if the companies can’t manage themselves well, then by golly, the government will help them do it.

Where to start. This is the biggest and smelliest turd ever foisted upon and proud and noble people. This is highway robbery using moronic simplistic psuedo-science as the weapon or choice. Let's begin with the statement "global warming is causing the polar ice-caps to melt". From this the "scientists" have said that the shorelines will raise 20 to 100 feet around the world. The "scientists" base this theory on another lie...that 87% of the worlds icebergs have or are in the process of melting. Well...if in fact 87% of the world's icebergs have melted... then where is the resulting rise in the shoreline? Speaking for the great state of South Carolina...there was zero increase in the water level. Therefore I do not believe the melting of the other 13% of the polar ice caps will matter a whit. Also, does anyone remember high school science? Ice takes up more space than water does. Therefore if the ice caps melt the shorelines will actually recede. Logic is a lost art with "scientists".

It's decision time: The almighty will of parental government is, as we used to say, up your nose with a rubber hose: Whether you want it or not; whether it's prudent or not; whether it means sacrificing your inalienable rights...or not. Accept...or deny?

Accepting Obamanization means throwing the rules out the window, along with the baby, the bathwater...and our fundamental freedoms. The laws protecting contracts; who needs them? Trillions of no strings attached dollars doled out for every known enterprise...and many of them dubious at best- no problem. Cozying up to avowed terrorists - hell, we are the terrorists! So, in comes the Gitmo detainees to a street near you, and out goes candy and flowers to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Meanwhile, as the Chinese call for the end of the Dollar, the masses yuk it up with Barry as he does the talk show circuit. As we've seen, out there on his own, he has trouble articulating the nuances of bailouts, stimulus plans and income redistribution. Not to say that the message is any better with the prompter lights on, it still sucks huuuuuuge! Despite Mr. Obama's glib approach, his plan is a big loser for all - including the mind numbed masses clamoring for change, change, change. And to think, we're only a couple of months into the abyss.

Denying government...intervention, on the other hand, apparently isn't an option. During the coronation campaign, Michelle Obama, our sainted First Lady, warned us that "Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual" (starting at about the 8:40 mark). They put it right there in our faces. They out and out promised the electorate an aggressive government. Mrs. Obama's words render it hard to mistake the threat of Liberal Fascism. And, now that that they are ruling, they are delivering.

Our "lives as usual", as Mother Michelle put it, has been replaced with an Juggernaut of crisis mongers, market killers and freedom robbers. Orwellian Pigs are in control now and the trampling of freedom has begun. And boy are these pigs smart. At least that is what we are told. We are reminded daily by the slavish mainstream media of our need to follow the swine herd. These erudite boars see our dissent as an affliction born of ignorance. To the liberal elite, our knuckle dragging conservatism reveals our inner most greed infested mindset - our penchant for the horrors of individual freedom. You remember freedom...formerly known as "life as usual". ?

The government is here for you America. They stand ready to come for your guns, your profits, your choice of health care, etc. Will you...will we have the guts to stand up and say no to the swine herd's tromp? Stay tuned.

Hide your wallets America. Beneath the scare mongering facade of climate alarmism lies festering the true agenda of the Obama administration: Your money and the liberal redistribution of it.

technology and regulatory affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (which has
been cautious about embracing a climate plan). "The Obama budget did more to
help us consolidate and coalesce the business community than anything we could
have done. It's opened eyes to the fact that this is about a social welfare
transfer system, not about climate."

Oh yeah, the proposed "cap and trade" shell game will be nothing more than a new way for government to hound American industry (what's left of it) to pony up billions for "redistribution". For you lemmings out there who have daily Gorebasms, here is a little inconvenient truth for you.

Mr. Obama is promising to return auction money to Americans, via a tax cut he proposed on the campaign trail. Mr. Corker calls this a "sleight of hand," since people were counting on a tax cut in any event. Nobody told them they'd have to fund it with higher energy costs. It's also a wealth transfer -- electricity users in coal-heavy Ohio, for instance, will be funding tax cuts for green Californians. Not that congressional spenders have any intention of using this money for tax cuts in the first place.

As a Duke Power customer, I fully expect my rates to climb exponentially as this nonsense becomes law; and the entire charade is built on crisis mongering. Of course, alarmism is the preferred tool of anti capitalists everywhere. Sort of a scare 'em and screw 'em plan. However, over 30,000 scientist world wide have signed a petition that refutes the chicken little philosophy of Gore, Gorbachev, et al (though the MSM paid little attention to it).:

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the earth's atmosphere and disruption of the earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the earth."

Oh yes, things are shaping up nicely. Freedom hating Islamo crazies are taking over Europe and moving westward, and freedom fearing liberals are jamming their commie laden enviro-politics up the tail pipe of the greatest economic engine the world has ever known.

And all of it based on damnable lies.

Change we can believe in. Oh I am a believer. I believe that this country is going at break-neck speed into the type of government tailor-made for a charismatic psychopath to take control. Said psychopath being our new prez. All major industries are being nationalized, no dissent is allowed, and all the major news outlets are in lockstep and cover-up mode to protect his administration. Sound familiar? Think Soviet Union, China, Cuba, and any and all arab controlled dictatorships. They all follow the same game plan and strategy. Control all means of production, propagandise the population, and crush all dissent. Think this cannot happen here? Look around! The democratic house and senate has effectively nationalised the banks, auto industry and are aiming at the energy industries next. When asked how this is going to help all you hear is "we have to break with the policies of the past". Actually this is a past policy. It was used in the last Great Depression and it didn't work then. The definition of insanity is "trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result". Well... we do have a psycho in control.

It amazes me that people believe that they can tax and regulate themselves into prosperity. Ask any proponent of this philosophy to explain the basics of how it works and their eyes will glaze over as if they had just snorted a line of pure mescaline. Usually, though, the question is met with the recipient valiantly attempting to explain the virtues of leveling the playing field by taxing the rich, saving the planet by punishing achievers, and guaranteeing outcomes by curbing individual freedoms. But defending the notion that government gets to call the shots concerning lives, liberties and pursuits of happiness is a tough sell. Eventually, the great guardian of the cause will become frustrated over the magnitude of the endeavor and lapse into a tirade that ultimately blames Bush, Jesus or both. As the church lady used to say, "how convenient".

And the truly insidious aspect of all this is that Americans are accepting this arrangement without so much as a whimper. Every time I see the scene in Animal House where Chip Diller is spanked as part of Omega's initiation, I can't help but think - that's us. We have become a nation of "thank you sir may I have another" sycophants eagerly awaiting the next governmental paddling. Pretty soon we'll be perpetually bent over begging for more taxes, more regs, more income redistribution, more earmarks, more bailouts...more misery.

Going Galt seems the natural progression of action for free thinking people. The alternative is to develop a glassy eyed stare and babble incoherently about the need for change; while ignorantly disregarding the aberration of freedom that comes with said change. From wherever she is, Ayn Rand is saying in a voice made raspy by cigarette smoke, "I told you so".

geeeeez had a nice take on Mrs. Clinton's China comments a few days ago. Here is my tin foil hat opinion. First, a little background:

BEIJING (Reuters) - The United States will press China on human rights but this will not keep them from working together on the financial crisis, climate change and North Korea, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday. Making her first trip abroad as secretary of state, Clinton said three of her top priorities in Beijing will be addressing the global economic crisis, climate change and security challenges such as the North Korean nuclear weapons programme.

Now here is the money quote:

"Now, that doesn't mean that questions of Taiwan, Tibet, human rights, the whole range of challenges that we often engage on with the Chinese, are not part of the agenda," Clinton told reporters in Seoul before flying to Beijing. "But we pretty much know what they are going to say.

"We have to continue to press them but our pressing on those issues can't interfere with the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crises," she added. "We have to have a dialogue that leads to an understanding and cooperation on each of those."

No, Mrs. Clinton isn't about to ruffle Chinese feathers over human rights. I'm pretty sure that she admires their methods. Hillary Clinton is an avowed Alinsky socialist. She shares the condescending elitism of President Obama. They see it as their duty to save America from individuals in general - and the free market in particular. To them, government is always the solution. To paraphrase the Prez...they are the ones we've been waiting for. To quote her, "It Takes A Village". The "ones" and "village" refer to the Government. A big, far reaching, bloated, overbearing government. Chines style.

As for the Chinese, sure, Hillary "pretty much knows what they are going to say" concerning human rights. Hell, she's on the same page. She's simpatico, she's a comrade. Piddling issues like human freedom can't get in the way of of the more pressing concerns of the times: "The global economic crisis, the climate crisis, and the security crisis."

And I'm curious about what Dame Clinton is thinking when she refers to the "security crisis". We know they blame capitalism for the "economic crisis" and the "climate change crisis". Of course, in liberalese that means us. But what of the security crisis? Terrorism? That is doubtful; many liberals think the war on extremist Islam is a sham in the first place; that America is the real problem. By security crisis does she mean The Iranian/Korean push to get the bomb? Maybe.

But I'm the suspicious type, and knowing Mr. Obama's and Mrs. Clinton's proclivity toward expansive government solutions, I can't help but think that when Mrs. Clinton speaks of the "security crisis" that she is thinking about American citizens revolting against the government Leviathan: The praying, gun toting, average, patriotic, people that comprise the vast majority of the country could pose a problem when they attempt to implement their plan. We are the fly in the ointment, the monkey wrench in the machine that stands in the way of the grand strategy of elitist, socialistic government. With guns sales soaring and the chattering classes rumbling at the prospect of intrusive, unaccountable government, people like Clinton and Obama probably think that Chinese style control of the citizenry looks pretty good. Should we be surprised when they attempt to employ similar tactics?

Well...not really...

I was in the fair city of Buffalo New York last week attending my mother in law's funeral...and while I was there one might say that the ca-ca hit the fan. The main stream media covered, as they should, the tragic crash of flight 3407. However, you had to search the back pages for mention of the Buffalo man who whacked off his wife's head.

Any guesses as to the religion of the head chopper? As Steyn says, it begins with an I and ends with a slam. Several conservative news sources remarked with faux surprise the lack of coverage this vicious crime received in the MSM. Imagine if some Tim Horton's swilling, Christian, white guy had committed this crime. Can you say front page news? The shock and outrage would have been more intense than the stiff breeze blowing off Lake Erie. And that is one stiff breeze by my deep south standards.

And the irony of this murderous act is the details as reported by the Buffalo News:

Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer
of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it
would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.

Whoops! So much for the positive light angle.

With a crime of this nature one would expect a bearded, turban wearing jihadist holding his wife's burqua covered head up for a photo op. But no. Instead, we see the smiling faces of a typical American couple. But apparently Muzzammil was typical only by his fancy American threads. It seems the Missus wanted out of the marriage...so he obliged her with a divorce...Muslim style.

Where was the wall to wall coverage of this crime? It was buried in the back pages so as to not insult Islam, that's where is was.

Lesson: You can take the boy out of Islam, but you can't take the Islam out of the boy.

A friend of mine and and croquet adversary, Ridgeway, thinks that President Obama and the Captain of the Enterprise, James T. Kirk have the same quirky vocal cadence. "Close your eyes and listen to Obama", he said. So, I did, and sure enough the President sounds like Kirk: The halting inflection, the glibness and the calm delivery. It's all there.

And the Star Trek comparisons mustn't stop with Obama's vocal modulation. We could surmise that the massive pork pie being baked by the government has more than a hint of science fiction in its ingredients. Nikki recently had a comprehensive wish list of starry eyed liberals ...most of it going to pay off every lefty in the Federation with a heartbeat - and some without. I can just hear, let's call him Kirkobama, saying to ACORN, "I ...come...in...peace...and with a cool four billion to help your people better register dead voters and steal elections".

To further the Star Trek metaphor, the latest news from Iran is that head Klingon, Mahmoud Iminajihad, wants to have a sit down with President Kirkobama. I foresee the president accepting a gift of Tribbles from Mahmoud in appreciation for getting Bush out of the way. Ultimately, the superstitious, bitter clingers in Western Pennsylvania will wind up waist deep in the furry little creatures - compliments of their President. Predictably, Tribbles turn out to be resource depleting, bad driving, crime committing reprobates. No problemo though, The President will give them all amnesty and remind all the rednecks "I won the election. Deal with it! Straight ahead Mr. Emanuel." Then Kirkobama will promise the Klingons/Iranians that America will stand down if they decide to wipe Israel off the face of the Federation map. Ultimately, the real coup of the much anticipated Kirkobama/Klingon summit will be the discovery that a serious strain of syphilis has infiltrated several of the Mullahs. Kirkobama, in a humanitarian gesture, will call in Surgeon General Sanjay "Bones" Gupta to whip up a tetracycline milkshake to remedy the situation. Thus, a Galactic crisis is averted. But don't mind that mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv. Move along, there's nothing to see there.

Of course, the TV/movie Kirk had no problem dealing harshly with the space trash littering up the universe. He'd beam up just in the nick of time to avoid being disintegrated by an exploding civilization. But there was no moping around for Kirk; by dinnertime he was looking forward to new challenges and heading there in warp drive. President Obama on the other hand appears to be looking perpetually backward. His dour crisis mongering is pathetic considering his messianic hype. And backward it is: The President likes to posture himself as a reincarnated Roosevelt. Naturally then, President Obama's economic solution is to boldly go in reverse to where we have gone before - and failed miserably: A big 1930's style government power grab complete with centralized 's solutions to problems government created in the first place. In the Roosevelt era, after 7 years of New Dealism, unemployment was still hovering at 20 percent. America's involvement in World War II was the catalyst for bringing the country out of The Great Depression, not nanny government, aka, socialism.

It has become a hackneyed phrase, but it is apropos considering the galaxy sized can of stupidity being opened by Obama: Beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life here.

Lindsey Graham's not so brave stance...

When Lindsey Graham was first elected to Congress in 1994, he went there with great promise. His impassioned pleas for limited government and a strong military was music to the ears of South Carolinians - and neophyte conservatives such as I. It was the salad days for conservatism; big tax increases and the threat of Clinton Care ushered in a flood of young conservatives clutching in hand The Contract With America. Lindsey Graham was in that class. It was rarefied air. It had been over forty years since conservatives had enjoyed the majority.

And the new majority did check and balance Clintonism. As revenues from the President's large tax increase began to flow in, the conservatives and Lindsey held the line on spending and deficits began to shrink. Of course, Clinton gets all the credit for that balanced budget, but liberals are suspending reality if they believe Clinton did not have that tax money earmarked. What we are watching happen today with the porked-out Obama plan was also the grand plan of Clinton, Inc., but the 1994 conservative Congress got in the way - just like they were supposed to.

Then something happened. The metamorphosis was indeed Kafkaesque. Lindsey Graham woke up one morning from unsettling dreams and found himself changed in his bed. He had not become a giant cockroach, but instead a liberal democrat. Well, not exactly - he does still say the right things on battling terrorism - but Lindsey's views on illegal immigration, his political spooning with Teddy Kennedy, and his ultimate love affair with "reach across the isle" John McCain (Gang of 14, etc), belies his conservative banner. His limited government, economic freedom mantras of 1994 succumbed to "principled compromise". The folks back home in South Carolina were (and are) puzzled. But not so puzzled that they didn't send him back to the Senate in 08. Honestly speaking, by re-electing Lindsey, South Carolinians will get the government they deserve...and are getting.

So here we are at the precipice of applied liberalism and Lindsey miraculously appears from the burning building carrying a baby, an orphan, and an old lady on his back - and waving at the cameras his long lost conservative credentials. His spittal spewing speech last week on the senate floor might be taken seriously if he weren't for the raging case of Washingtonitus he contracted after his election to the Senate in 2002. It was then that he stopped looking out for the rubes back home and began looking out for himself...and with "getting along". His constituents became "bigots" for not supporting his push for amnesty and his aforementioned man crush on John McCain was a further symptom of the disease.

So it is good to hear Lindsey Graham say the things he used to say...and perhaps even used believe; but now he pontificates with nothing to lose. Democrats do not need his vote to pass the lets make America an economic basketcase like Europe bill. His grandstanding rhetoric seems empty and capricious at this late date. His principled compromise tarnishes his once conservative reputation. Where were you when we needed you Lindsey? Now, with the specter of rampant economic liberalism lurking like the ghost of Karl Marx, your eyes roll back in your head and you begin to channel Reagan. Nice speech, but you're too late Lindsey, far too late.

It is nevertheless telling that in picture books purportedly designed to teach children about Obama's life ample room is found for grand explication of his Holy Ghost-like omniscient global citizenship and the transubstantiation of his "very being" into a "bridge that joined nations" (past tense?) but no space for any earth-bound facts of his remarkable rise, which even his most diehard fans would presumably (hopefully?) acknowledge as corporeal in nature.

I haven't looked into it, but I doubt you'd be able to find very many fluffy children's stories about G.W. Bush...or Reagan? Fuhgddaboutit!

This is really not good news: I looked forward to lampooning ol' Tom Terrific, but alas it is not to be. To be three ball dead, to quote an old croquet aficionado is to be "a worthless bum".

So the name of this blog refers more to where we as citizens find ourselves in regards to government/politicians than that of the contributors. Actually, the contributors are all erudite individuals who, just like everybody else, wonders what in the name of goodness and decency has happened to our republic? How is it that our nation has fallen into the hands of corrupt, career politicians that, when the grimy veneer is removed, are indistinguishable from one another.
